Just had the exhaust off to clean it up and to remove the restrictor. When i looked down the exhaust downpipe i could not see any cone/washer or any other restriction in there. Is the restriction further down out of sight where you have to cut the exhaust open to remove it, or if it is not there near the flange has it alkready been done?

tbh, i don't know where the restrictor is in the exhaust but i think you will still have a restricted variator and CDI.

Yeah i know, but i need to start with the restrictor in the exhaust first, any other work i do will be worthless if that restrictor is still in.

I always thought that any flow restrictor would be in the downpipe close to the mounting flange, has anyone ever removed one from any exhaust system who could confirm this?

I've read somewhere that the best way to remove it was to use a 20mm (i think) holesaw. Unless the rstriction was close to the mounting flange you could not use this method.

Unless of course someone has already done it, but i cant really see any evidence of it being there in the first place.

A Honda Bali is a very unusual scooter so it's not really a surprise. Most standard exhausts have a cone in the end pipe where it meets the cylinder and some also have a pipe that comes off them as well.

On a Honda Bali I have no idea at all.

Thanks, well it looks like the restriction has either been already taken out or its the whole exhaust that is the restrictor. Until i find out which he can ride it as is.

    Cheers.
