I was recently on a short ride and i noticed that sparks were shootin out of my exhaust when i revved over 4000rpm, and also the exhaust was glowing red with heat around the welds i was wondering if anyone knew what could be the problem? any help would be much appreciated :)

Mix some water with your petrol. Should cool it right down.

The temperature at which steel starts glowing is about 4 or 5 times higher than normal engine running temp. And aside from sparks coming out the exhaust being near impossible even if it did it woud NEVER only happen at a certain rev range..

    Deffo chatting shit.

sounds like the bike is miss-firing to me? When my bike is running and i turn the key off the exhaust will pop and throw lovely flames :p

Well by the sounds of it your exhaust has a cat (catalytic converter) fitted to it all piaggio/gilera past something like 2003 have the fitted if you do have one of these exhausts it is normal for it to get very hot mine used to glow red inside and little blue flames would sometimes come out on idle after a good ragging lol
