So, yesterday I was riding my Aerox, hit a (big) bump/hole/however u wanna call it, and... this happened: Anyway, got curious, as a friend who works with scooters once told me my exhaust was most likely still restricted. So I got a big screwdriver and started poking around. I'll try to draw what I found (in red), exactly as and where I found it, since it's easier than explaining: This is a restriction right? Or is it part of the exhaust design itself? It matches exactly what he told me I would find, only thing I'm not sure about is if the little tube should be connected to the pipe exit or loose as it is. Anyway, if it is a restriction, what should I remove? Everything that's red? Greets
Hi It sure is dude ! What kind of exhaust has a plate with a hole in it right in front of the baffle cone ? It completely destroys the point of an expansion chamber/baffle cone exhaust (as per your brilliant link - animated as I remember). It's possible that it is part of a restricting device that fell into the exhaust from the silencer end. If you can get it out - that would help. The you just need a welder to put the end back on. Otherwise, ditch that crap brother and get a Yasuni 'R' ! They have restrictors in the mouth and the exhaust silencer - which you can get rid of in 10 minutes with a dremel. Good luck -
Yeah I'm trying to find a new exhaust to use with this cylinder (stage6 streetrace), since this scooter is going to be used regularly I'm trying to get it to have a decent performance while not compromising maintenace and mainly fuel consumptions, so my options atm are the ZX, the Pro Replica or the yasuni R. Thing is, I'm short on money atm, so I either find a used one, or have to hold on to this for a while more (it's a gianneli next btw). Yeah it's that gif you are thinking about, I was almost certain but just wanted to make sure before i f* up So, all the red goes off eh? thanks! I guess this also explains why the bike couldnt get past certain RPM (it reaches those RPM and looses most of its power, like its restricted or so)
Pro rep is your best bet honestly, made for the streetrace cylinder! I have those two and its a perfect combo and creates alot of power. Looks good in chrome and carbon also! and look after it and it wont rust like the yasuni's!
As i said, Im trying to get a used one. If you do know someone who can ship internationally let me know
