Hi guys, I've been trying to do little bits here & there to try & get some experience with scooters and was offered a Peugeot Speedfight 100 for £50. Went & viewed and to be honest it was better than I expected, had two brand new tyres & wasn't in that bad condition. Now to that bad part, the engine's knackered! Clocks reading 31,000 so it's understandable so first thing I did was ordered a tuned 70 lump to put in it as I understand they're pretty much straight in & out & it was well priced. Now I'm waiting for it to come & can't wait as I was going to do it myself however my mate's said about getting him to fit it (for a small fee of course) because with it being 2 stroke if any air gets in then it'll go bang. Just wondering if it really is as death defying as my mate makes it sound? Is it a form of surgery or is it just put it in & reconnect everything? Sorry for the wall of text & any replies are welcome. Many thanks, Matt.
no its not hard. the engines are basicsally the same but the wiring and stuff may be different. dont think theres too much that needs to be done
its pretty easy but you still need to know what youre doing i would recommend searching around on the internet check out video's
Yes I was going to have a look round before hand, take pictures along the way to try & insure I know what goes where etc however with my mate telling me about the problem with air getting into it & the chance of it just "blowing up" wasn't sure whether to take the risk. Wouldn't mind but it's not just a £20 engine! Will have a look round & decide while the engine's delivered. Cheers for the reply guys!
