I have just got a yamaha jog RR 50, they said it keeped cutting out after a couple of miles run. I checked the coolant and there was non so I put some in and it was leaking out of the second head part of the engine, not the barrel the top head part where the spark plug goes into?
New barrel and head. Simple to do. Be methodical in the process. Do not tear your base gasket like me, and all will go well.
This varies on personal opinions and also what the manufacturer states. Me, i like to see 500+ miles of 30-35 mph. Steady throttle nothing too harsh, then after that. Break in to 1000 miles with usual riding, providing their are no mishaps along the way.
Im guessing your jog has a similar setup to my aerox. Besides the location of the radiator. But it is pretty much the same process for them all. Have your water and antifreeze, fill this up to around a 50/50 mix. Depending on our seasons, some prefer to adjust the antifreeze during winter. Ensure your level is between the min and max on the header tank, preferably closer to the max as you will lose some anyway through venting. Now, you can either remove a small pipe which goes from the cylinder head to the carburettor and allow it to vent this way, it will possibly spit and spatter for a small time Or remove the filler cap till the bubbles stop rising to the top, a little time consuming compared to removing the pipe from the cylinder head. But both work.
Watch out witch top end you fit some kit have a bleeder screw on top of the head If you don't bleed the air the bubble won't go away on it s own apart if you lift the front of the bike in some cases An air bubble in the circuit could end up making the engine over heat
This bleeding stuff is confuseing the shit outta me lol, can someone give me step by step to help me get it right on how to bleed the coolant system please!
