engine numbers

    does a bike need engine numbers to apply for a logbook..

    any help appreciated

    are the engine numbers the same as the frame numbers

    i didnt think you did need engine numbers to apply for logbook? cant you just say they were new casings from piaggio and didnt come with engine numbers??

    na cos then piaggio will get it up the arse
    find an old engine and take those numbers ?
    or go to scrappy and buy a set of cases :nerd:

    recon engines dont have engine numbers

    yup.. engine numbers have to be correct IF PRESENT.
    you dont need them for a v62 application, just chassis number engine size and road prefix

    sorry to take over thread, but, my peds due an mot soon, and ive changed engine since owning it, which is since its last mot, so the engine numbers different to the log book, will the make it fail to mot?

    if so do i need to send off the log book, or grind off the engine number as its out of a bike thats not meant to go back on the road anyway :)

    tut tut tut lol yeh just grind the numbers off the engine mate, tell ur tester that you ran ur old engine without oil and blew the fucker to bits, new engine in. jobs a good'un

    yeah, but is there any laws sayin that thas okay :confused:

    isnt it easier jus to send off the logbook

    The bike may not be able to go on the road but the engine could be fine. When bikes are written off its most likely due to frame issues etc.

    Grinding off is dodgy whatever the reason.
    You wont fail an MOT for no engine number. U just thats the only reason you want them of...
