my new engine has numbers on it, am i right in thinking that its illegal for them not to match?? so what can i do about this?...grind them off or can i just put the new numbers on the logbook and send it off? i would like to have engine numbers, but if its gonna be a hassle e.g engineers reports and sva tests then im not too bothered cheers imp:
then your probly get a letter from the old bill 9 times out of ten they will let you keep the engine if you can prove you have bought it not knowing that it is moody
REALLLY ! that kind of goes against the whole point of somebody reporting having there bike stolen or would they have to return the engine and just not get charged ?
I once tried to do an HPI check on just an engine. No such thing, they can't check them without a frame number. Tell DVLA the new numbers. There might be a fee for a change. It is legal to change them on the logbook, otherwise you couldn't fit a new engine if yours blew up or was stolen.
if your changng numbers on loggy its free as for the numbers every engine i buy i take to police station to have numbers checked even my dad does this with his harley engines
thanks.. dont think the engines stolen so it should be alright imp: what would happen if i was to get pulled before i do it, because im still waiting for the logbook to come back in my name... sent it off a few days ago
nothing ive never once had my engine numbers checked when ive been stopped if they do simply explain your situation
Seconded its unheard of round here for the old bill to check engine/frame numbers, they're either lazy an just run the plates through the pnc or just plain stoopid
yh i dont get them checked alot when im on my own coz im fully legit.. but when im in a group they always wanna check them.. i just dont want my bike getting impounded lol
meh..could have passed it off as a 100, i swear its still just as illegal because youre still riding without a licence hahahaha... unless its a 125 in thich case i take it back lol
The log book i recived back from the DVLA for my aerox 172 conversion just says (engine num not known?
