Hi, does anyone else experience their dash lights and headlights dimming when riding? it will go dim then bright again every 2 seconds or so, is this normal ? I have a speedfight 2 by the way

the alternator splits the current, some to the cdi for the ignition, and some of the coils of the alternator/stator serve the charging circuit, lights etc ............ when the bike is at low revs, they will be dim, as the revs pick up, the current increases and they become brighter, is this what is happening??

Once you are going at full chat, they should stay bright until, you cut the throttle.

Thats what i though should happen, but what is happening is when im riding full whack, or just chilled riding, either way the lights will go dim then bright agen every second or so... Never seen a ped do it before so i presume something is wrong :p

check all the connections are sound, move the relative wiring around gently see if a wire in the loom is breaking down.

next thing I would do is check the voltage at the battery at different revs with a multi-tester, to see if the regulator is working properly consistantly, if it seemed okay, probably run another earth wire to the front of the bike and see if that improved things. If no joy, then I would go back to the loom and switches and start testing.

    guns got the best idea

give the wiring a wobble and see if you can narrow it down to a certain area
