not unless you've got it all wired into a 24 volt battery.

why the hell is the rear light wired to the battery? fix ALL the bodgery first, then ask why things dont work. simple really

i ran a wire from the live wire in the brake switch to the rear light so it lights up when you turn the ignition on. i can easily change it back if you think it would help

yamaha think it would help... hence they made the wiring the way it is.. put it back. sort it out.

you bodged some wiring from the battery, somthing blew up.. wiring should stay as it is... i dont get why people play with it.

re-wiring other parts won't help as it can put extra stress on other electrical parts.

i would get your wiring sorted back to standard and try another reg/rec unit

you know what, your too smart for your own good.. ask yourself this.. WHY the fuck is there a wire from your battery to your light??? if it didnt work befor then the same wiring has broken down further up the line... if it did work befor YOU have popped the rec... dont ask if your gonna argue the toss over some stupid wiring you bodged in..

no my rear light is connected to a live wire coming from the brake switch and it works fine. but my front light is connected correctly and keeps blowing because i belive to much currunt is going to it. so 2moro im going to connect the rear light correctly buy new bulbs for the front and try it again if the bulbs blow again it must be the rectifier. thank you for your help MiNoR cOnFuSiOn you've helped me sooo much

the only thing that will blow it is voltage, not current.

the only way the voltage can peak above 14v is if the reg/rec unit decides to go tits up.
