Ignition leads snapped off at the ring terminal. The guy attempted a repair and stripped the + out of the bolt head. We had no 'proper' tools or equipment available. So basically I ended up stripping a few millimetre of bare wire back, and sandwiching it between a new bolt head, which was basically a stainless steel bolt. Would you leave it be, it's working fine, or find a way of attaching a ring, and getting a proper bolt head?
your better off in the long run to put a new terminal on it...bodges last till they break again and usually when its the most inconvenient time...a fix is permanent... costs a few pennies for a new terminal....
The strands are thin, and I'm not sure of the terminal I should use, or the tool to fix it proper. Any ideas would help immensely!
go to ypur local hardware shop and pic up a new terminal then all you will more than likly have to do is put it over your cable and squeeze it with a set of pliers...job done takes 2 mins...
i like to stick a little blob of solder on those crimpy terminals, just to be safe. but yeah, like above, just stick a new terminal on there, is it a sym/dialim? because its a fairly common problem on them, ive done quite a few
