if its gone into the bottom end then that could be trouble and you may need to rebuild youre bottom end

no not definately but if its definately dropped down there and if you cant get it out or it damages anything then you will most probably have to rebuild the bottom end which is a little difficult to do and you have to split the engine cases

well if its definately in the bottom end it must be taken out it could cause serious damage and might also mess up the brand new bore kit you are planning on installing

stop guessing, turn the crank gentely and slowly by hand, if all feels smooth after a few turns and it didnt lock up/go stiff atall chances are it got into the cylinder and blew out the exhaust.. ether way if its come out its done damage somewhere so you will probably need a new kit.

small flat magnets are alwas handy for feeling down the side of crank webs, but you should be able to see any space in the crankcase a clip can sit.... if its hiding behind a web its defying gravity as all things should fall to the lowest point, and this is visable on most engines. the chances of it being completly obscured from vision are alot higher than the chances of it ending up in the exhaust.. the scores on the pistonj should give away what direction the clip went ether way

for future referance, dont bend them as you put them in and line up the gap in the circlip AS FAR AWAY FROM THE NOTCH IN THE PISTON as you can....the only way these come out is by fucking them when you put them in (bending) or by lining them up with the ring grove. again, look for the directional score on the piston, if it go's upwards theres zero chance the clips in the bottom end.. as always, do not post if all your going to do is guess. better to have no reply's than the wrong information and the above could have cost you a new set of bearings and a big labour bill just to find out if theres a clip in your engine. if it spins, then the clip isnt in a bearing, so theres nowhere else for it to be
