If you mean the transmission cover then check every bolt is out and use a soft mallet or block of wood to gently knock around the edges. It's just stuck. Pull on the kick start lever while banging the sides and you'll see it move. Once you have a small gap then use a flat screwdriver to gently prise apart while still pulling on the kick start lever. I emphasise 'gently' prise apart all the way round.
