Dragster/Runner 125 2T big bore kit

Hi guys, has anyone here installed 172 cylinder on 125 dragster/runner piaggio 2T engine?
Does it simply fit or does it need some work done on it first? As far as I understand 125 and 180 are quite similar.
The thing is that I have been offered with a cheap 172cc kit, without cylinder head, so would it fit straight on provided I get a cylinder head. Also I heard that the 125 head would fit on 180 cylinder, but I suspect that's not true.
And yes I am aware that I should get higher gears and lighter rollers unless I want to be doing wheelies all the time.

 

The question you should have asked was " who hasn't fitted a 172 kit" Yes, the 172 barrel will fit straight on, no the 125 head won't work on the 172.

 

Thanks mate! But i'm still a bit confused, so i need to get the cylinder head, I think I had it confused for the cylinder cover (not sure how it's called), will the the old cover fit on 172?

 

I think you mean the "skull cap" the black plastic or ally top cover, yes there the same 125/180. You will need a 180cc head or the malossi head to use on the 172 barrel. I have a 180cc head if you need one.
