Back at the start of september i got my Dragster 125 for £690 on a 52 plate, No tax or MOT as it had been off the road for the last 3 years, Hence its low mileage - 3052km exactly :bird: It was a bit roughed up from sitting around, Back wheel flaked, Back tyre wrecked, Steering arm rusted a little, Back wheelbearing knackered and the front left indicators cracked - Apparently it fell over in bad weather... Anyway, Ive been cleaning it up (done most of the front end) and basically considering what to do with it... Im on a crappy wage and still at school so it'll take time, But my plan is to: - Decent spec 172 engine - Scorpion (unless someone comes up with a more powerful stainless system!) - Wavy discs - Some decent suspension - Get some bits coated Heres the pics of how it is/was... The engine as it is now...(Not the engine im using though) Back shock... Beginning to polish the back caliper...(Using a runner rear one now though) Before the engine out... ------------------------------------------------------ 26/10 Bit of an update... Sprayed the bit of the frame where the tank straps bolt on, Not an excellent job :emb: Back ends all built up now though, Clean of course Unsure whether to use the blue tail-light lens though, Will get pics tommorow. ------------------------------------------------------ 27/10 As promised- Opted for a different oil tank cap, From a yamaha neo's. Still breathes but doesnt pour out oil every chance it gets. ------------------------------------------------------ 19/2 It's now out of the dining room :w00t: Got the wheels, SIS arm, Stand and Tranny case ready for blasting and coating when i decide on a colour imp: Meanwhile, Got these part: 52mm BGM, BGM mounts, 'BGM' bearings and seals, Galfer front disc, Malossi gear-up, Malossi straight manifold and Polini Evo reedblock ------------------------------------------------------ 4/4 As it sits now Cases before... Unfortunatly your going to have to wait for 'After' ------------------------------------------------------ 4/4 After Tranny side needs a couple more coats and a couple of bolts drilled and tapped but its getting there :nerd: ------------------------------------------------------ 18/4 Rear Disc, Jets, Air Filter, Kickstart, Waterpump Kit + Gasket set (Also got a free catalouge, BGM/SC/Supercharged stickersheet and PETROL 4!) Literally just in the door imp: This week i've been working on the stator cover, Pics will follow ------------------------------------------------------ 5/5 Crappy pic of: Can (second hand), Stub, Can strap, x2 Exhaust gaskets, Back hub bearing, Back hub seal, Piston rings, Thermostat, Typhoon tranny covers, Piles of stainless bolts and 4 stainless banjo bolts. Still more to get done but the engine should be done this week Oh and found an Area-51 caliper fits the front ------------------------------------------------------ 24/6 As of today: Think all i need is brake pads and mirrors, Engine will (should) go in tommorow, Front left indy is cracked but it glued ok (will get one asap but will pass MOT as is) ------------------------------------------------------ 30/6 Running sweet as, Bugger all left to do
very nice cant wait to see this finished should be kool, also that runner look nice in the 2nd pic btw
Had a long think about my situation last night... Have decided im gonna put the crank etc into the spare casings and run it as a 125 till i've enough for a 172, 25mm and 180 vari, Will also put the gearup in then too Should have all the bits and bobs powdercoated in about 3/4 weeks time
I think its a love/hate thing with dragsters, I hated them this time last year but love them now  Another wee update anyway...
did i just spot some evidence of grind work? show me a pic looking straight into the case (looking at the bearing seat basicly)
dont be afraid to take this area back... still looks like 3 angles where youve smoothed it out but the start of the grove is spot on for where the reedblock sits so wont rip reed petals apart when using a plateless block. still looks nice tho. first go?
Got wheels, stand, tranny case, rear hub and SIS arm powdercoated, Will prolly start building it tommorow if i get time
