After passing my test i didn't have much cash about to get what i wanted, So got this:

    1994 Suzuki DR650RS

Then in an unfortunate incident on a single track road - bike went bars first right under the back of the stopped 04 plate renault megane (Rear of the seat was squished against the rear right wheel and the engine was just showing from under the bumper, Look at one of them cars next time and picture it!) and then looked like this (sorry about poor pics)

And (just for you lot ;) ) my right knee about 2 weeks on (yes i've learnt my lesson, Levi's are no good for falling off in) Imagine a rather big hole where the stitching is...

Then last tuesday we had finished 'repairing' the bike (bit of a pain in the ass, Had to find a home for the CDI and De-comp box amongst many other troubles) and it now looks like this (Spot the f*cked but working oil cooler and tank):

Unfortunatley, The following day we finished it i was in real agony, my knee had swollen up and wouldnt bend again so i went to the doctor, Turned out it was an infection so i was off to hospital again. Just got out yesterday with it looking like this:

The lesson is: Wear f*cking gear! I was only doing around 40mph at the time. Heres a list of the stuff i had on and the injury's:

I was wearing my craft helmet (broken left visor screw), JTS jacket (slid up my right arm and i was grazed there, other than that it did its job - the rest of it knackered with rips!), Buffalo gloves (managed to chip a bone in my left hand but its not bothered me since, gloves really saved my hands though - they were scratched to buggery), Levi's (Knee wasnt the only injury, left knee and shin were badly grazed and bike scratched and stabbed the back of my right calf somehow) and lastly i was wearing my steel toe'd caterpillars (favorite boots i had :( ) which snapped the laces and my right foot gets sore sometimes, But at least they stayed on! (Would not have liked to have been wearing trainers!)

Hope thats enough motivation for anyone who wears jeans regularly when riding to get some protection! (The accident was 6 weeks ago sunday coming...Knee is far from recovered yet)

ouch, shame mate, the bike looked tidy before.

hope all your injuries mend soon enough to get back on the beast.

Thought you'd been a bit quiet, best of luck with your recovery!

My injury did exactly the same, open fracture, threw the saucer sized antibiotics away, got infected then they gave me tiny ones which cleared it in days. Unlucky fella!

Unfortunately most people are reactive to safety and injuries rather than proactive. Lets hope people on here learn by your mistake (I'm sure plenty of others have done it! Me for one :emb: ) and get kitted up as jeans just don't cut it, especially with our shitty roads, traffic and weather at this time of the year.

As for the bike, nice job on getting it roadworthy, it probably will feel better too as you got rid of that awful "fairing" around the bars.

Wobbly, The bike looked a bit cleaner before, But under the bodywork shes still a bit of a shitter :w00t: (Hence why i wasnt very heartbroken to see it under the car)

    Cheers Purplepill.

Tweak, Never got any antibiotics first time, This time i've got paracetamol, diclofenac, fluxocillin, penicillin and another one i cant remember but theyre doing the job

What kinda pisses me off is when i moved house i packed away my draggin' jeans, Totally forgot about them until after the accident but i bet i wouldnt have been as bad with them!

Bike looks loads better IMO (apart from the tank and oil cooler obviously) and seems a lot less bulky without all the crap (Was my intentions to put a cutdown 'gaurd, those lights and 'renthals' on it anyway!)
