Right, mates got a Daelim E5.. (i call it a doylum cos he's a bit of a mong aint ya chris :) ) but anyway, it sucks, tops out at 35/37'ish...

i've suggested lighter rollers to him, as he bought an aftermarket pipe for it. would he need a new variator? he says the rollers in it atm are just like metal tubes cut up type of thing... lol

anyway, any other ideas as to where it could be restricted... as it hits top speed it sounds as though it wants to go faster, but doesn't..

    Any ideas?

    my doylum

does any1 wreckon if a tighter drive belt or torque spring would do it any furthers, drive belt would push the variator wider apart, and the torque spring push the clutch further out?
    any ideas?

no, the torque/contra spring works AGAINST the variator.. its the resistance against the roller's moving outwards.

take the transmission apart, look for wear on the variator, make sure it wears RIGHT to the top of the ramp..

shit scoots are exactly that, shit.. people tune what they tune for a reason.
it can be made quicker, wether its worth botering wiht is another matter entirely

yeah iv heard that, some people have said u still only get about 45-50 when u got a descent setup, but thats still more than i can do.
and the belt goes up to the top but not...RIGHT to the top, leaves a gap of like a cm or a half.....so u think rollers are a must? :nerd:

it's Whitey9's scooter btw... hence why he's yattering on.. and i've told him to sell it and buy something worthwhile :w00t: but he doesn't listen to me...

he's told me of buying 5.6g rollers for it, too heavy still? i told him mine were 3g and i'd suggest 3-4 grams.. but he don't believe me... sum1 he'll believe tell him lol
