Evening everyone, Just went through all my pedparts receipts. £400 I've basically completely rebuilt my 2000 aerox, with everything from bar conversion to full circle crank. The bike cost me £re400. So, £800 spent on it so far. It s been fully stripped down and everything painted up, with new bearings whe neccassery. I want a streetrace kit, but with the other little bits I need my shopping basket comes to £120. So that will make it over £900 spent on it. (including buing the bike in the first place). One good thing is that I work in a custom car workshop on weekends, and the fellas have done the bodywork for me for free. The paintjob would be £600+ to a customer, which gives an idea of the finish. A huge amount of time has gone into it. So with that in mind, do you think the resale value will be increased enough to justify another £120 spent on the engine? I don't really know what a aerox with a brand new sorted engine and mint bodywork would go for, any ideas? I don't mind losing a bit of money, but I don't wanna have to sell it for a stupidly low price because of the age of the bike. (or do you think that because it's been fully rebuilt its not affected too much by its age?)
Well i got offer 400 for a 2000 reg aerox with a ttpcom an air filter sprayed all white with black inner an a tail tidy so you'll easily make more
You won't make the 70 kit back guaranteed ...I sold a mint 07 rox fully tuned fresh rebuild and pipe with new Evo body kit and white seat and inners with LCD clocks for just under 900
people are willing to pay all sorts for bikes now,,,,, my engines more or less fully rebuilt apart from the crank and kickstart parts, and some retarded dickhead offered 400 quid... even thought iv spent £1000 on parts and i bought the bike fucked for 400 quid. so i said u can have it for 400 but im taking all my fancy bits off for myself! id say yeah gofor it, whats 900 quid over 800. not gonna make you much more money tbf..... i hear people look out for mint bodywork and mot and tax more than anything these days
The thing is you already lost money if you are looking at selling it. There is very little value in tunning up a ped and selling it back. There is a difference between wanting to do a nice bike and selling it and wanting to do a bike TO sell it. One makes money the other one doesnt. Dont get me wrong, people do spend money on ped but only for high end project. Would you spend over 1K on a modified bike when you can get a brand new one for not much more?
