Does compression increase as you run a new bore?

I have searched but i couldnt find anything relevant, i fitted my malossi mhr rep 70cc a couple of days ago it is all fitted correctly i fitted it with a mechanic, but the compression does not seem that great between 75-90 psi i was told that as you run the bore the rings and bore settles in and the compression gets raised is this true any help will be apreciated thanks

 

it is correct. As you run it in from a honed bore, the rings wear to the bore sides, they then seal better thus creating more compression coz the expanding gases cant get down the micro small gaps where the rings contact the sides of the barrel
