i would imagine its the same then, Best bet is to search for a cylinder head on ebay, Usuly states the years with the part. Is it just the top part you need where the plug gose or the barrel? cus i have a spare head on my SR50 im breaking, And its the same engine used in the aerox so it would fit. If your interested let me know and ill set an ebay listing for you

it's the actual cylinder itself that's needed, old owner got the exhaust bolt holes helicoiled and a bit has now broken off the side of the flange making impossible to re-drill it as there's nothing to drill into.

Ah i see mate, Best bets to get onto ebay,Seen some go fairly cheap resentlly, or order a new one from a garage, I would offer the one i have spare, But its got a score inside and im not sure if it would compress enough to run, ANd i dont have any means to test it.

its scored, its fucked.. if you can physically FEEL any marks on a cylinder then its worth fuck all, throw it in the bin...

your cylinder is fucked, so you need to buy a new one. its a fact of life, motoring costs money, cheaping out means you end up spending more in the long run.

no, i thought i would just guess at the problem from the indescript tipic title and see if was right?

of course i read it.. if his cylinder is fucked, he needs a new one, your "spare" cylinder is a half fucked cylinder you took off your/some other bike and should also go in the bin. there 50 odd quid for a decent patttern 50 kit (complete wiht head/gasgets) why buy such a CHEAP and integral aprt of your engine second hand? it wears out, you should not use old cylinders on other random engines.. its just being cheap and bodging engines up wiht inferior parts.. its like reusing crank bearings as there "still in good condition".... theres fuck all point being so cheap as it comes round and bites you.

the "head" as he put it isnt a head atall... its the cylinder. exhaust flange broken off, so he needs a new cylinder kit...

IF your on about him just buying a cylinder without the head and reusing his own, its a fiver different and they will specify if theres fitting issues down to year/model. this is why you select the bike year from decent parts suppliers.

word of edvice here ... the same thing happened to me and i brought a cheap 50 kit thinking it would be good ... BUT NO !! dont go near a cheap kit they are less powerfull and its very noticable! If you have the money buy an original yamaha one if not go for a reliable make such as malossi, polini, doppler and etc .. :)
