hi guys. i have a runner whit a 180 dna engine. every thing works nice but one problem. when i ride whit half of the throttle on a cruising speed the engine vibrates like a sick engine, its not running smooth and if i pull full throttle the vibrating get stronger and some awful trrrrrrrrr sound from between leg area, but i can't hear this noise when in idle speed or on center stand or at low speed. I have played whit the bloody air fuel missing screw but no luck just the same . tough its running lean or something but no. ps: i have that big round thing between variator and clutch and the belt is hitting it and makes strange noise. but the noise i talk above is whit or without that
before this engine i had a 125cc one and on that the big end was gone and u could hear a rattling sound getting faster as u go. and u could hear that in idle to. this is diferent.
when i ride and hear the sound <more like over rev sound> like it comes from the valves. And passing by friends can't hear nothing
i think they are, but il double check. dose someone have a pic of the swing arm assembly . i don't know if i have it OK
not really i was thinking of the whole assemble. i have the engine fitted but i have some problems whit the engine. 1 is vibrations and the second when i use the middle leg the rear wheel is on ground. don't know whats the problem because the same setup where before i got the engine out and it was ok
THats the engine mount assembly What is the middle leg ? If vibrations are caused by mounting it can be from a missing washer/worn bush/shocks/swingarm-exhaust hanger/engine LUG rubber bushes/overtightneing, undertightening. Why have you played with the air screw to sort out a vibrating issue? :glare: You sure its not transmission based problem, eg the rollers, slack belt, loose internals?
i mean when the bike is on center stand the back wheel is touching ground. i have the same wheel as before so dont know what did i screw up. i need a pic of the whole assambly so i can check if i made mine coreectly il post pic tomorow
Yeah you need to be abit clearer and maybe its best if you post GOOD pictures from angles of your setup/problem, maybe someone can spot the problem, if thats where it lies. By the way get pictures of your rear shocks too and the mounting points for them.
ok got engine out and made it pieces. well the cam chain was jumping on the sprocket, we could lift the chain from the sprocket like 3 to 4 mm the guy from the shop said that's the problem. we checked everything all is ok. maybe the crank has a very slight movement and its not side ways. as u maybe don't know i just bought the engine and im happy to find out that has new 18cc aluminium barrel and biston and it looks mint from the inside. Forgot to get some pics but il buy a new chain and take some then. the guy said from the shop that the cam chain has to be very tight on the sprocket????? cratch: cratch: cratch: who knows . maybe and the other question is: we where in hurry and didn't check the bearings. what bearing has the 180 dna 4t?? beacause hears a pic from haynes when he repairs a 4t runner engine. sorry for long post and baddddd english im far far away from the UK
if the camchain is loose then its ether the wrong chain (unlikely) a fucked chain thats horidly stretched, or youve completly missed the camchain slider and TENTIONER.... there is a 10mm nut ontop of the engine, this is your tentioner.. take it out, remove the spring, remove the 2 smaller nuts, pull the tentioner out of the engine., reset the pop out bit (push the lock in then slide it fully in) reinstall it, THEN put the spring and the 10mm nut back in, turn the engine slowly by hand and it will rachet out (NEVER turn a 4t engine in reverse of its running direction, you fuck the tentioner, possibly what youve done) check your cam timing (line up both marks) if its wrong remove the tentioner and the top camchain slider (if there even installed, usually a long black/green peice of plastic, one sits ether side of the camchain inside the cylinder void) if any of this is missing you wont ever time it correctly/have a running engine, theres too much loose play in the camchain.
