Back to the Jonway Madness. The lights all work, but are not very bright. Do get a little brighter when revved up but still not brilliant, if you excuse the pun. Any ideas. I hope it's not the alternator. Nubsey
I don't think that is the problem, because even with the headlights off, they are still not that bright. Any idea how to test the alternator. Also now it's dark I can see that when you rev the bike the lights seem to go even dimmer.
Check voltage out put to regulator (A/C voltage) battery should be getting 14.5 volts D/C if it's charging ok.
I have checked the voltage coming from the stator. All looks good, 20 to 70 volts depending on the revs. So I have ordered a new regulator, as it's only £2.39 delivered will try it out. If not possibly some duff wiring to the regulator, as I don't seem to get any voltage, but for £2.39 I will try that first. Also it does not seem to be charging, as voltage increase is next to nothing when engine is running.
