sorry to bother you guys again but i was wondering if you guys could help me out with a few things. basicaly i went out on my scoot (neos 100cc) earlier and in all honesty it struggled getting above 35 which is shit for a hundred no matter how you look at it  so i want to know how i deristrict the dam thing.now theres a sports exhaust on it which cuts the exhaust restriction out but im guessing yamaha have ristricted it elsewere too. ive heard theres a restriction in the cdi but how do i remove it ? ive heard theres a wire i need to cut and join it too a red wire is it true and which wires do i cut and join ? and im guessing no ones removed the variator washer (before i had the scoot) but i dont have an airtool or an impact wrench to get the nut lose to remove it. is there another way to get it off ? and last but not least while the variators off im gunna change the rollers and the belt. im gunna get a polini belt but i want to know what weight or size rollers to get for better acceleration without losing too much top end speed sorry for being a constant pain in the arse but thanks for any help you guys can give
only mopeds are restricted.. make sure it is a 100 pipe not a 50 pipe. check the rollers are in good nick and do a visual on the reeds/seals if possible.
cheers minor but the reeds look fine. if im too replace the rollers what size/weight is best o and how can i tell the differance between a 50 and a 100 pipe
get a pic up... somone will soon tell you if its the wrong pipe. sounds it tbh, common wiht 100 engines as alot of kiddies think because a 50 pipe fits its gonna actually work... ive seen piaggio 50's wiht 125 stock pipes befor now. nobody is gonna predict your roller weight, buy a set of stage 6 variable weight packs (get different weight centres) and work it out for yourself same as everyone has to. nobody can tell you what rollers your bike needs over the net, well not wihtout a few different riding video's and a fair bit of referance.... wich im by no means advising you to do... such a tedious thing. read the roller guide
thats the pipe if that helps. it says technigas on it has you can see but apart from that ive no clue what model it is and cheers for youre help minor yet again
i dont have a impact wrench or a air tool to get the dam vartiator off do 15 X 12 - 7.4 GR roller sounds about right ? minors gunna verbally abuse me soon
get a air gun from argos or go to your local garage. the clutch springs will need changing and the rollers lightening for that pipe when set up right they dont go too bad
If my eyes don`t deceive me it say`s catalyser on that scoot? If it had a cat in the original pipe you will need to up-jet even with the techi-shite pipe on, Euro 2 emissions and cats mean it`d be jetted weak so best go up on the main a few points. The rest is as the rest say, rollers bla bla bla
yep youre eyes do you justice it does say catalyser on the scoot and the main jet if i remember correctly had 86 on it so up to 90 do you reckon. i was wondering about the clutch springs but what stiffness do you recommend has i know nothing about clutch springs (il have a read threw the forum and see if i can pick anything up) the thing is the site i intend too use doesnt sell clutch springs for my model so would the springs off a neos 50 be any good o and by the way i had my missus follow me lastnight (my speedos fooked with the look of it) with the car and she clocked me at 40-42 on a straight and 35-37 on a slight uphill
unless you mean she clocked you with a lazer speed gun out the window, car speedo's are not pin point accurate either :good:
upto 50ish car speedo's arnt too far off (they read 27mph at 30 and are worse the faster they get.... but if your using the same car the mph is irelevent, more the fact the car has clocked an improbvment.. thats WAY fuckin slow tho tbh.. do as weve said, biugger jet, lighter rollers (befor you blow a hole in your piston) the clutch springs will be similar.. messure the diameter of the clutch and use springs off a matching diameter model. im pritty sure the minarelli springs are the same as the 100 springs, but dont quote me, messure your clutch first.
well im gunna get the bits from donotlink pedstop. the rollers they sell for my bike are 15 X 12 - 7.4 GR the standard ones for my scoot are 15x12 8.3 so il give them a try im thinking of going for a new polini belt while im at it ive just looked on the sipscooter site at the technigas next r exhaust and you guys were right it recommends lighter rollers, stiffer clutch springs, and 5% larger jet well my jet size is 76 so 5% of 76 is 3.8 so im guessing il need a 79/80 size jet. trouble is mines a tk carb not keh or del and ive heard tk jets are hard to get a hold off
I think that your main problem is your blue screwdriver under the fairing, you shoulda used a red one. Seriously tho bikes are soo different from when i was a lad, cats ,E.F.I and restrictive ignition moduals, god non of that in my day on me Honda SS50 lol. This forum is v educational and great advice too. Well done chaps. Paul
the best thing to do is to DUMP that scoot and get a real one like a Runner  dude is all about trail and error and one day that scoot will fly LOL keep on it dude you can do this :good:
back again right ive had new piston rings and a new head gasket fitted, ive fitted it with lighter malossi rollers and a new belt. ive upjetted the carb by 5% like suggested and the bloody thing still doesnt wanna go over 40-45 mph. im at the stage now for lobbing it in the shed to collect spiders and dust. any other ideas guys ? could the clutch be slipping do you think
