Hi all. Just rebuilding my nieces zip 50 motor and found the carb has the restricted plate in it. If I remove this should I look to reject up or will removing the plate just allow more air and fuel in so it just goes quicker? Thanks
Don't remove the plate unless you're rejetting or upgrading it. The brass plate directs air flow to the pilot circuit etc.
Gonna give it a try. Can alway upjet if the plug starts to look too lean. Thought the plate just restricted air in and therefore suck from the main jet. Remove plate, more air through, more fuel sucked in. Anyway cheers
With mine I couldn't get it to idle correct unless I ran it off the main jet with the air screw completely in otherwise it'd bog on full revs. With the brass plate it starts, revs etc fine.
