Hello, I have the carb I've listed as the title. It has no problem from 0 to 100% throttle - no bogging down, jets are setup perfect! However, I can't get it to idle what-so-ever! Yes, I know someone is going to say just adjust the idle screw. But I can't locate it, I feel so stupid even writing this post. Every other carb I've seen just has an obvious idle screw to adjust. Has anyone had the same problem or have the carburettor I have? Thanks in advance, Alex
The idle screw will have a spring on it. Screw this in and start the bike and adjust. Don't screw it in too far as you can damage the throttle needle.
The carb only has one screw with a spring on it, it is air / fuel mix screw. Already tried adjusting it mate! It doesn't change the idle, and took a lot of trial and error to get it baack to normal! Thanks for the quick reply btw. Alex.
Try googling the name of the carb then. I'm sure there's a picture somewhere showing the different screws on the carb.
The one with the spring is mixer correct? The other screw doesn't seem to do anything when turned, It was all the way in when I got it. But these are the only two on the carb? Is it a pilot jetting problem? Oh and believe me, I have looked everywhere for a diagram / picture. But the idle screw isn't even present on the dellorto official diagram!
The silver one with the spring is the idle screw, and the copper one is for the mixture - If I'm not mistaken. I have the same one on my NRG.
It might be that large thumb screw on the top of the carb, info found here: http://modernvespa.com/forum/wiki-2-stroke-carburetor-set-up-technique "The larger thumb-wheel type of knob on the carb is the idle speed setting and this is where you can set the revs at which the engine ticks over. If its racing turn it down a touch, if its stalling a bit then screw it in a bit to raise the revs slightly."
