I can't believe that I've ended up with another pile of crap. I must admit that I do enjoy doing bikes up, so this will keep me active for a while. I won't be spending anywhere near the amount I did on the last one, so this will be a fairly straightforward rebuild..........I hope. Bad points................. Not as many as I thought when I 1st looked at it. Everything is there, it starts & stops, it just looks like a pile of shite because of the professional teenager spray job Oh, & it has an alarm!........................ Well, did Quality piece of kit, 2 wires to the battery. It didn't even go off when I disconnected it lol. Looks like I've got a Speedfight DNA50 Another quality paintjob & cleaning job lol Can't afford a gasket? Then why not use some exhaust cement instead? Frame looks in good knick, so there's a positive
Nice exhaust bracket Anti freeze? Whats that? Now to look inside & see what horrors lie beneath Surprisingly good in fact Although I don't reckon much to the hammer work But I still had another one off the Green meanie
Swapped it with some cash for my Green one as it wasn't selling & I was looking at buying a new camera. It's turned out to be worse than I thought as I found this today. Bit pissed off now, but I'll get it done & shifted on (hopefully)
oh wait, just seen the casing is cracked off, common problem with them, will you weld it or buy another case/motor?
IIt's been put on hold for the time being. I was offered a Suzuki GN125 for £200 with a poorly engine, so that is taking the limelight at the moment. I lost a bit of faith in the Speedy, but will get back onto it later in the year no doubt. I think it will end up being a winter project.
I've finished the 125 off for my missus, so started work on the Speedshite again. This will be short term as I've sold my race bike & have bought a CBR600 to do up. Anyhow, here's where we're up to at the moment. I've bought a 2nd hand crankcase, taken the engine out of the bike & have started work on it. Nice new gasket set, boy, we are spoiling her lol New side now fitted, hopefully I can get rid of the iron girder holding the exhaust on now
