so who actually does go the full stretch and tell their insurance about all their mods, and even tells the dvla about bore kits?

I have done but it all depends on what you say! "my exhaust rusted through and have fitted a replacement due the very high cost of a genuine part" " It only cost £100 pounds and is lovely and quiet!" I have also re-regged my typhoon t0 250cc with the dvla, insurance was about £160, all I said that it was a 250 engine, not a twin cylinder. These are my own experiences and circumstances, yours will be very different and be careful of how you word things to your insurance company. They won't want to pay out anyway, so be careful out there!

When i was 16 i still had my aerox, which had a Full cricle crank, mid-race 70cc cylinder, 19mm carb, variator, PM clutch and a decent pipe.

Never had an accident though tbh

The only time your insurance company cares is when you have an accident or they have to pay out in some way or another. Same goes for any of the other info you give them. After that theres alot of other factors and its anyones guess tbh

No not a 4t vespa, I made a twin cylinder runner 250cc t2. I'm going to make a 100 or 140cc twin very soon, just looking out for a couple of good piaggio 50 engines.

if i had less projects i would snap your hand off for that!!!!! got access to a dynojet at my new job so would get it running right in a week (probably). i guess i should get my car raced before i think about more projects!

If you dont tell your insurers about any non-std. mods to your bike it is invalid-period!,if you have an accident they can use that as a justifacatio to say you are not covered!.

B/Bore kits on moped/scooter = reclassifying your bike,expensive-labourious if down legally,no longer "moped" but light motorcycle, and as for challenging the legal precedent that puts them on the road in the first place, have fun with tax/insurance.

    Got lucky,it happens.
Take it you were still covered because they wer'nt aware of mods in 1st place-in which case your insurance was invalid from the -
second it was issued ,that ins. document is a statement of intent (from them) - based upon information (given by you) might not have been so lucky if it had been a really serious acc./pedestrian involvment.
Bear in mind greater attention will be paid to you next time as it's on record.

Round here you have to declare any aftermarket exhausts or the cops have you. I got pulled over cos of the sound from my zx he said is it on your insurance I said no cos its E-marked he goes and what it still needs declaring he let me of but I've had mates pulled for the same thing and get a fine.
The cop must have thick tho as sport pipes ain't legal once the restrictor is removed never mind all the other bits fitted aswell
