I find myself in a bit of a dilemma regarding the SR build.
The problem I have is that I wanted to build a 172 engine with a decent power output and the old crankcase isn't really up to the job. Pricing up all the bits needed for the engine rebuild alone came to over £1800. I have to add powder coating, bodywork, electrics and all the other bits and bobs you forget about. Total spend will likely add up to about £2400 or more.
So my choices are, accept that this is what it's going to cost and carry on, or buy a geared scooter (likely a Vespa T5) for £1500 ish and spend some cash on pipe, top end kit etc.
I love the Aprilia but I have always wanted a Vespa.

So what would you guys do?

Lay the specs on each,down..side by side, then realistically compare an suss out which one would be better in the long run.
    Or
You could spend most on the SR & buy yourself a damaged repairable Vespa for laters.;).
