decarbonizing tips

    what are peaple using to clean built up carbon of the pistons and barrels im cleaning up a 50 barrel and the ports are full ive had a good look round the net for some tips and if there is any products around the home that might work and all i can find is wd40 and paint thinners.

    just a thought but what about alloy wheel cleaner ? my mate said oven cleaner which has costic soda but i think that will damage the barrel

    I usually use clutch and brake cleaner and some 800 grit wet and dry on the piston

    the piston is gonna be easy to clean its mainly in the ports i need something i can spray in them leave it to soak then rinse out
