I'm probably going to answer my own question in this post but I could do with another opinion.

Bought a new battery for my typh 125 2T around 10ish months ago. The bike is an on going project so every few weeks or so I would fire her up and let her tick over for 5 mins or so. Id always disconnect the batt and keep indoors after. I'd done this consistently, say up until now. Today I connected the batt and didn't fire up on electric nor did any electrics work. The red LED does illumiate on the left side of the clocks though. (Has always done this even when the batt was fresh).

Is it most likely that the batt has gone dead by me doing this over the months, as I've read using the batt like this without riding the bike will cause it to go flat?

    aye.

the scoot only tops up the battery , the charge unit on scoot only provides a fraction of the amps needed to charge the scoot ie 1amp or so, but to get 1amp of charge into the battery the scooter must be running for an hour we call this amphours and its how much charge is delivered over an hour.

your using of the battery is draining like 500+ mah on each running but because your only running bike on idle for like 5 mins your only going to be feeding something like 20mah back in.

if you have a couple mates around ask if they have a battery charger you could pop it onto that will bring the battery back up fully and you be set to go again ;), its a shame you was not closer to me, i loan you my all wiz and bang RC charger that does small lead acid batterys

Thanks for the reply. I think it's about time I invested in a charger anyway
