You got that right. Why is it called the "Darkside"? Because MOST of them have Classic Lambrettas and Vespas and they used to think "Autos" are evil. Until they bought one. :w00t:
Hello Murkee, you are sooo right ! I DO have a Vespa and a Lambretta. But i've also got a 2t 180cc Runner.... The thing I have found is that its nice to have a machine that has that 'get out of trouble' power when you need it, compared with my geared scoots.
always found lammy owners a bit fussy really. "oh you cant have that nut on there it must be this one" they restore there scoots to better than they left the factory and then TRAILER them to shows.these things were built to ride, not to become ornaments.just my opinion
always wanted to join darkside tbh jsut for the europian rallies seems like something different to do but i know id end up blowin me engien up or gettin nicked wheelyin
Me fussy ?, never - i know what you mean tho. SCOOTERS SHOULD BE RIDDEN - NOT HIDDEN ! NOR TOWED ON A TRAILER OR TRANSPORTED TO A RALLY IN A VAN ! Any of yous goin to Kelso at the weekend....?
giving kelso a miss as its my great nans 80th bday ill be doing the dutch lions rally in belgium in a few weeks time though
Alright Monty - hope your Nan has a cracker of a birthday. Would have liked to do the Belgian Rally. Have always fancied doin a European rally with like minded peeps - but not this one. Owing to work and financial committments.......
I agree. ride them don't hide them. I bought Back Street Heroes this month to see what it was like these days, and interestingly, the Editorial quotes from a survey they carried out about modern custom motorcycles in BSH. The survey described them as "...unrideable, irrelevant, ornamental pieces of sculpture." I feel that the classic scooter scene is tending to go the same way. I like autos, you can do anything to them and no one complains.
