Hi again, my brother also wants to tune his scooter up and he wants to know which cylinder is faster with a 19mm carb or a 21mm.

the new top performance due plus 2 with a yasuni c16// s6 r1200
    or
    Polini corsa with yasuni c16// s6 r1200

    Thnx ;)

and why is that? if you cant explain your answer then dont post one....

what has the carb got to do wiht how the cylinders work against each other?

The heavier one will be faster.

If you chuck them both off a building the heavier one will be faster assuming constant gravity and an equal wind resistance.
Of course if you do this one another planet with zero gravity and atmosphere then neither will be faster as they will both be the same.

So I`d go for the heavier kit with the most aerodynamic shape.

    Hope this helps.

the tp due plus is basicly the same as corsa timing wise (idential 20.5mm exhaust and 30 transfer) wich means there the same performance (ifthe heads and transfrs are equally shaped and equally restrictive, all ports restrict) but id still go for the polini, cheap its mean good cylinders but cheap heads/pistons.. cant go wrong wiht the polini stuf. altho if its LOT cheaper id go for the tp

BUT saynghat i wouldent bothr wht ether.. an iron kit wiht evo timings? wont last long atall..... might aswell ditch the pair and use an mhr rep (ali, twin ring, better por layourt and guess what, CHEAPER) the timingsa on the mhr rep arealot softer also the 16 wont keep up with a 20.5 zaust wih 30mm transfer verry wel) BEST bet would be to retime anmhr repo corsa spec (makes te perfect road kit, power, good heat loss and good reliability fro the twin ring)

corsa's and any othe overpored iron kitis just a waste of time...

just checked both maps.. the corsa has a wider zaust port... so will make much more power at the cost of ring life :)

i'll probably tell him to stick with the corsa then, i've been checking in some sites and according to them the polini corsa is faster than the mhr rep:confused:

    this is his setup

    Polini corsa cilinder
yasuni c16 or yasuni city 16
    21/19mm dellorto carb
    evo 2 clutch
    overrange variator
    Mhr crank
    reed blocks/valves

    thats about it i think.

well done, the corsa IS faster..... BUT its made form a shitter kit... the malossi iron kit can be made into a corsa and make more power than the mhr... BUT it will hold heat and die ALOT quicker.. the mhr rep is also 60 quid cheaper...

buy an mhr rep, give me 60 quid and ill throw the corsa map on it. it will then be ALOT faster than the corsa (2 more exhaust ports and its ali so it wont get as hot or stay as hot for as long)

the rep is down on power as it has sport timings.. wherre as the corsa is a sport wiht harsh timings.. if you actually think about it, its stupid to even buy a corsa. fact is the corsa is faster, yet lasts a third of the time the mhr will, once ported the mhr rep will be faster, last longer and shed heat quicker than thew corsa.

speed is one thing... lasting speed is completly different.. i have an ac corsa kit wiht no piston for anyone who wants one for a piaggio..... 30 quid

i can make an iron sport kit faster than the corsa.. wont last 2 mins tho. this is the thing people ALWAYS forget... forcing power out of a shit kit is all well and good, but making it last isnt gon a happen, this is why you have extra prts and aliminium cylinders.. as you get the same torque, slightly less power (befor corrected) but a hell of alot more life out of them.

simple fact is thew corsa is prittymuch the best an iron kit wil get wihtout being silly unreliable.. the mhr rep is a piston, a quick head mod and 3mm away from being an evo 2....

the c16 will run on a stock mhr rep but prefers slightly harsher timings... if anything the c21 is more suited to the corsa but the 16 runs (as it does on an evo) the best spec would be a mhr rep wiht timings of 21.5 and 30.5.... but running a rep stock on a c16 is just as wrong as running the corsa.. there both wrong in opposit ways... the rep falls just below the happy timings and the corsa is too harsh, but ye, they will both be fine wiht a 16. i run corsa/evo timings on c16's all the time...

so ye, small mods on the rep, if he already has a corsa just wait for it to blow (wont be long) then replace it wiht a rep

you cant really... its as wacky as its gonna get (can do bits to it, but its really not worth it wihtout case work to match it up) its an OVERPORTED iron kit... how are you gonna port it more than polini see safe to do so?

dont people read posts anymore?

Hi, I need help with a couple of more things,

firstly, Which foam air intake filter could i use with a yamaha aerox and a 19mm//21mm delorto carb? I wanted the big double layer stage 6 one but i was told it wouldnt fit:confused: any ideas?

also, are the intake manifold and reedblock/valves necessary? what difference would they make.

thnx, i'll appreciate your help.

the stage 6 dual filter will fit. It comes with a few inserts so it will fit like 98% of carbs.

if its been fitted to a delly phbg it 100% will fit. i know as ive had one with a stage6 filter on ;)
