Hey ! I'm new to the forum but not to the scooter scene. I've been riding for a while with my Chinese little 50cc keeway flash. Recently dug out our typhoon which had been sitting in the garage for probably more than 7years. Not long ago got it running using a drill. Then kickstarted it and it ran for a bit - about 20sec before just cutting out. Currently its sitting with a disassembled kickstarter thing. But there is one maybe big problem. I'm missing the cylinder cover/air shroud. My dad ordered a 50cc one awhile back, but it didn't fit. So maybe some Typhoon experts might help me figure out what kind of typhoon this is, so I can order the right cover - because in the documents its a "Piaggio Vespa" as funny as it sounds. The moped is a 1994 year. It's definitely not a 50cc, when I gave it full throttle It wanted to run off the centre stand, sounded mega angry (the exhaust is held on by 1 bolt). Some pictures, maybe you can tell me something more that I don't know. Some tips or anything in general will be really appreciated. I can't insert the images here or through url so heres a link to them. https://ibb.co/GVwY4FC https://ibb.co/b5DKdcr https://ibb.co/1RtbqFN https://ibb.co/x8mgPBL https://ibb.co/MMX4L6b https://ibb.co/M60S1Sk https://ibb.co/cbZsX7y https://ibb.co/kJ7TbDP https://ibb.co/w49CSvM https://ibb.co/djxgbPB
Welcome to the forum Shaker. It's hard to say but it's obviously air-cooled and the engine looks in good health. Considering what the documents say I'm wondering if it's some kind of converted vespa 125. Your Golf van is pretty cool. Can you sleep in it? If so can l borrow it so l can go camping in the aussie outback & self distance in total isolation
Where I'm from and with the drivers license for moped you can only ride a 49/50cc moped. Anything above that is considered illegal that's why everyone who upgrades the cylinder with a bigger kit either leave the documents as is or try registering it as a different kind of moped. So mine was obviously brought back to life and then taken to the DMV to be registered as a "Piaggio Vespa" so it can be legal. And yes in the mk1 caddy you can sleep. Well you could, when the back was still on.
