Hi i have a polini 70cc , cast iron kit , its about on its way out , and im feeling like buying a new kit.

Am i rightto say the alluimi kits wear down quick, my aerox had a stage 6 one but the boy told me it weared down to quick and was unreablie, remember this is a road bike , school, collage if i get it, and just fun.

Or should i go for a cast iron one again ? . If so should i pick the polini one , if i changed would it fook my settings ect. , louis

A good quality kit like the Malossi Mhr Rep (Alu) Or Polini (Alu) won't effect reliability and usually are more reliable standard bores if fitted properly to a well maintained ped. if your ped already has high milage you might want to consider looking at a new crank and bearings as well and a good service :)

Sorry for wrong section , still getting use to this forum

So will the alluim one wear down quicker , even if looked after can it be honed , or bored out if needed , as i know the cast iron ones can be ?

why do you believe this ones on its way out?

if you're even thinking of honing and boring an alu cylinder, then why not simply overbore the current one????????

the stage 6 kits are less reliable due to using a single ringed piston, aluminium isn't any less reliable as long as you use good oil with it

and hows this topic in the wrong section

i have polini cast iron 70 on my rox. how long has yu're barrel been on that bike for. polini sports are good 70 kits. 2 ring piston so more reliablity. i bought my polini sport as i didnt want to change my carb and crank at the time and the polini sport isnt too overkill for the crank as it running what 5-6 bhp for me at the moment (bearing in mind standard carb :() if you want a reliable 70 stick with a 2 ring piston for sure . and cast iron is a good bet. just look after you're bike. this means servicing and using decent oils not that lawnmower sludge. you could try a malossi sport 70 aswell but stick wiht trusted names
