Ok, this is called a 'rant' I'm pissed of cos these crap, shit bollocks chineese peds are ruining our roads. Theyre cheap, nasty, slow, 4 STROKE! and just rubbish. I'm gonna do what they used to do to caravans on braniac.. Only i'm gonna do it to those SHIT SHIT SHIT chinese scooters. DO NOT BUY ONE THEY ARE SHITE AND ARE NOT WORTH A PENNY. Thats better..
more chineese peds = more decent second-hand piaggios, aprilias etc... that no one wants because they buy new.
Ah! I never thought of that wobbly. good point. The fact is, theyre shit. and The first person i see who comes on here with a shite chineese ped, and goes on about how great it is. Is gonna be in for the shock of their lives. Yeah theyre good for someone who's gonna commute. But saw a lad today at work who's just got one... Within a week the rear wheel had buckled. I mean i know we gotta keep up with emmision laws, but why oh why would they punish us with 4 STROKE 50cc scooters. Wrong.
there is no denying theyre slow.. but other then that, build quality isnt as much of an issue as it was, admittedly its not as consistant as an italian or japanese built bike. also theyre fucking dirt cheap, so thats gotta be a plus haha. and as vapour saod, their food is pro.
Heheh! I've got TWO! :w00t: One of them won me a trophy for "best Twist and Go" in a custom show. It beat a Gilly Runner/Lammy hybrid. But it's OK I've got a Slider and an Aerox (in bits) too. And a Bajaj sidecar outfit with a PX166 engine.
Bajaj has been round for a while. like LML. they make good lookalike scoots. I'm talking about the new stuff theyre making recently. Too right they make good food, but they should stick to it. The price of copper has gone through the roof! Mainly cos the chinese are using so much of it, mainly on components for scooters! (joke) I just wouldnt buy one myself.... A lad who works in the warehouse where i work has one. And within 2 weeks. The rear wheel had buckled. But obviously there are plus sides... More scoots to smoke, better 2nd hand good quality scoots for the rest of us and i guess, at the end of the day, more of a scooter following. We all want the scooter scene to grow in this country. and i guess its a way forward. Maybe it will make the big makes like piaggio, suzuki, yamaha etc to lower the costs of their bikes?!
Bajaj have been around since the Seventies when they took over productionof the old Vespa Rally. Now they are very big in Germany and the US but haven't managed to penetrate the British market, which is a shame, as they make the only PX style scooter with a Four Stroke engine, the Legend.
i agree to an extent with the Chinese comments but taiwanese scooters are very good. both sym and kymco are built as well, if not better than many of the italian manufacturers. albeit not as quick
Taiwanese scoots are really well screwed together, like Japanese ones. I think the difference between far eastern scoots and European ones is that far eastern ones tend to be set up for economy, whereas European ones are set up for speed. When your only transport is a scooter and you get paid very little, economy is going to be top of your wish list. It was like that here in the 50s. (No I wasn't around then!) Just look at the old Brit bikes of the time, all built for economy and home maintenance. Nowadays in Europe bikes have become toys, so speed sells. Whatever gets more riders out of their cars and onto bikes is good IMHO.
