crank fitting

    wat did u people use to put ur cranks in i got my bearings in but need to make a tool to pull the crank thorugh any pics of past tools [people have made please would help

    heated the casing an used a socket to knock them in but u cant knock the crank in with a hammer can you ?

    freeze the crank, heat the centres of the bearings, smear your sealant round the cases then drop the crank in, bolt the other case on and it should pull the cases together, then you can centre the crank with a rubber hammer

    sorry didnt think u could heat the bearings really dint think would do them anygood and do i have to freeze the crank can i just use the crank as it is dont u need to pull the crank through the bearing tho to seat crank properly

    heat the bearing gently and yes you do need to freeze the crank or you put too much stress on the bearings.

    ye if done right...bearings should slide into place but im wonderting how big a socket yoyu used on the bearing an more to the point where you placed said socket..

    it would be good but wld b extra work for minor and people would still ask instead of lookin in the guides just like people never search , nice idea thou :beer:

    1. people will fuck it up an blame me
    2. why should i try and explain somthing i charge for?
    3. if you go to a big building called a library.. theres these big heavy things with lots of bits of papoer in them called books... how the hell do you think i learnt? do it wrong 5/6 times an you soon learn what not to do..

    minimoto engine is 40 quid... buy one an practice

    fact is i write guides for things you have to understand an can easily be bolted together... crank fitting is a skill that cant be told.. you need to learn/be shown/fuck up badly a few times

    yeah, i've buggered up one or two :( usually the mains dont last long if you get it wrong.
