Court Summons >: (

I can't make head to fucking toe of my summons.
As far as I was told it was for no L plates or tax.
I got told £60 fine and 3 points and that was the last of it.
Summons came through today.
And said this

On 20/02/2008 at Westcliff on Sea in the county of Essex drove a motor vehicle, namely large goods vehicle or passenger carrying vehicle Gilera Runner X524 HLH, on a road, namely Western Esplande, othewise in accordance with a licence authorising you to drive a motor vehicle of that class. Contrary to section 87(1) of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and Schedule 2 to the Road traffic offenders Act 1998
This offence carries penalty points.

My court date is on the 13th augaust.
I really do not know what to do. I paid the fine. Produced documents.
Got a letter back 4 months later with a cheque in my name saying penalty fare is being voided and court sentace may follow.
Put the cheque in the bank, check my account 4 weeks later...
CURRENT BALANCE....... £3.51
So it obviously bounced.
So if I have not been reimbursed, I will not have to attend courtas I have still paid my fine??

Could some one guide me in the right way to go about this?

You wouldnt have been reimbursed for money that nver left your account. You would need to have posted a cheque off again with the corect details on.
The money never left your account because the police never got it so they sent it back to you.
There for you havnt paid the fine mate.
Sorry to hear mate, shit situation to be in. They make it all a bit confusing

 

The cheque came from my parents account.
I even rung them up to ask if they got it.
The cheque they sent back was from them,
Written out from Her Majestys Court Sevices
And spelt my fucking surname wrong!!!
But when I put it in the bank, I asked them if they would take it, showed them the letter and said yeah thats fine.
So all I can see if that the cheque has bounced.

 

Oh ok, i remmbered you postin a while back when you got the letter through and i couldnt quite remmber what you said.
Just give them another ring up tommorow. Ask to speak to the person writtin on the letter you recieved.
Cant do any harm. Plus you can find out about the large goods vehcile lol

so let me get this straight... uve sent ur license and a cheque off for an L plate fine and 3 points but havent recieved either back n now uve been summonsed to court?

best bet is to speak to a soliscitor, also you could come up with an excuse to get the points removed in court as chances are the police officer wont turn up (my mate got away with 3 points for jumping a red light this way)

I done everything they asked me to do.
When I went to produce my documents I forgot my paper counterpart.
I said to him "shall I go home and get it?"
"naaa you 'll be alright mate"
but I do get along with that cop really well. He wasnt the one who gave me the fine.
Spoke to him yesterday.
He said that its the traffic police's fault.
They could of rung up DVLA and checked if I had a licence etc. but didnt.
He said that it could come back on them and I will come out scotch free.
But I've been mugged off £60 some where along the line...
