sorry to sound like pipmed aerox in this post im extremely sick of my variator fucking up! i was riding up my gf's house lastnight when it just decided to stop working i dont know how its happend i think its fucked and cant be arsed with the chew! iv had enough and think its time to move to something abit better than stock. iv got alot on my plate at the moment and cant have things breaking on me all the time! http://scooter-center.com/catalog/produ ... 0_214_2259 i will be after a 70cc kit soon so i will need something what will work well with it. is there any other decent variators in this price range? is there any tools required for this except a variator locking tool? i noticed that big spring goes behind the clutch bell doesnt it? how will i remove the clutch bell? iv seen tools. in my other post it was stated that i can get one from halfords its called a oil filter removal tool. how does this work? iv also found this tool: http://scooter-center.com/catalog/produ ... 0_214_2257 would this be a better tool to use? how will i keep the spring compressed so it doesnt shoot out? like i said i am very sorry about all these questions. i just need some help thanks matthew
first, title your threads properly.. they will be deleted otherwise second, never cheap out on parts. get a polini variator. tools are pritty simple.. go to scooter centre, look up your bike, then look at specialist tools and you will find the right locker for the variator and clutch.. by the time youve done this you might asweell just buy a battery opperated impact wrench from halfords for a score. you wont need to mess with the contra spring just yet
titels changed iv been on scooter center and they have. 1. http://scooter-center.com/catalog/produ ... 0_214_2259 2. http://scooter-center.com/catalog/produ ... 0_214_2259 < whys this got nine rollers? and adrenaline have. http://www.donotlink-pedstop.co.uk/p/PO ... --132.aspx what would be best?
the robbing fucks! you can get the same variator from pm tuning for over a tenner less!! https://www.pmtuning.co.uk/Merchant2/me ... IREFOX50LC
Re: could someone help me with variators please? how do you know its the variator if you dont know how it happened. does it come loose or some thing like that. you aint explained it proper you just said it fucks up
Re: could someone help me with variators please? it is defenetly the variator. its played up 4 times before! its hard to explain but it doesnt pick up at all. iv been told that its somethign to do with the variator not engaging properly. i dont know why it hapens but im going to change the whole unit from stock to an aftermarket one. sorry if its not a very good explination.
hey dude you do know you gotta add vat onto the pm prices don't you :tdwn:
oh what! i never new that! it will probubly work out the same then wont it. il just get it off adrenaline then. then atleast i know it will get sent on time and its will be the right part i order.
the rollers are a month old at the most. they still look brand new. no scoaring or flat spots on them. i had them out at the weekend.
are you re-assembling the unit in the correct order, like the washers and stuff. i fucked up once before and coused a load of probs for myself and someone else on here :emb:
well i took it all apart lastnight and has anyone ever had deep wear marks in the variator and the fan pully? (few milimeters)
how do you mean by wear marks? if its the belt then they do leave marks after a while. im thinking you havent put it back together properly (variator). could be belt slipping etc. or worn drive belt. make sure the nut is done up tightly as well.
how do i mean? i mean actual deep line a finger wide and a 1mm or 2mm deep in the variator and static fan pully. where the sides of the old belt have been rubbing. i think. everytime iv took it apart iv always put it together properly. iv orderd a new fan pully and a variator this morning. on saturday when i get it all together il take some pictures to show you all.
