Yea there should be....go to your local bike shop, all bikes if not most bikes should be restrictable.
Nope, they have to prove its NOT 33bhp, rather than the other way round luckily, the whole F1 international certificates thing is just a scam to charge SERIOUS money for what is a few washers (eg 150-200 squid) throttle stop is good but without a dyno you dont know where it makes 33bhp, and a dyno isnt cheap either best bet is finding the dimentions of a restrictor washer set for the bike and make them yourself ALOT cheaper, or just dont bother restricting it at all. What you planning xt660 or something?
Think he wants a KTM? We was speaking last night about a old school DRZ 400. Can get SICK ones with like 5000 miles on them for 2 grand around abouts. Give or take couple hundred. Personally.... CR500 road legal!! SEEEEE YAAAAA (in hospital lol)
I doubt it there in quite a low state of tune, last quite a while iv heard, much longer than cr125's yz's etc.....
summin like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HONDA-XR650-R-XR- ... 240%3A1318 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HONDA-XR650R-2-RE ... 240%3A1318
Was looking at their little brother the xr400, mega gutted as it is 34bhp...how the fuck can you restrict it by 1hp ??? Of course get it dyno'd and send the sheet off as it should have lost a bit of power since new.
Oh behave. It's a 750 2 stroke. Hardly wack. It'll eat most, if not all things on here. My old man had one when he was younger and said it was one of the quickest things he's ever ridden.
The widow maker lol, might be a unique/ cool bike (id like a go on one lol), but its not that great, 74bhp an 125 odd mph, although the power delivery/sheer dodgeness of it proberly makes it feel alot faster than it is, blatantly fun to ride but would get spanked by modern IL4's in a straight line (13sec+ 1/4 miles isnt that fast really) and killed on a track. (im talking stock bike, obviously they tuned the feck out of them, but that can be done to any bike, iv seen one pull a sub 9 1/4 mile, but they just make their nickname more appropriate lol, they do sound lush though)
just play it safe and get an xr 250 for a few months, its under the limit bhp wise, they are fairly lightweight, sound and look ok i guess gets you into practise with gears and shizzle and wont be as much cost wise or insurance as something alot bigger... oh and its a honda they know how to make a good bike. dont see the point really from going from a 20bhp automatic scooter to something crazy like a big heavy crosser wich thieves will drool over...
Getting to grips with gears etc wont be problem for him. He's ridden 600's before (R6 an ninja) Money wont be a problem either Still good advice for some one that is learning and not much money to play with.
