Correct plug for ac 172 ?? also what ratios people useing ??

    hi i have just put a lovely hole straight through the top of my sr's 172 mallossi bore only just bought the bike so i assume it wasent set up right luckly the bore hasent badly damaged so just orderd a new piston for her i took the plug out it was a BR8IEX i dont think thats the right plug also i am currently running it on 140 to 5lt of petrol sound right to everyone ??

    i think most people switch to a 9 when fitting a 172

    the squish may have been set too small and caused the issue.

    not sure on the ml but the ratio should be around 30:1

    50:1 is fine, its not a chainsaw...the plug you had is an iridium, rubbish. Just use a br9es... As for it nipping up, check for air leaks, check oil seals, check the jetting, got a pic of the old piston? Will tell you what happened.
