i would like to know about my carb what would be the best setup to have to run and k and n with a high end bore on a 22mm carb. i.e. what size jet would give me best performance etc also if anyone knows how to have the mixture screw aswell
right well i have just started my ped with a polini evo bore and a 22mm carb and theres not way its setup right at the moment i have a 92 main jet in there with a k and n but what i cant understand is when i then increse the revs to move the power just dyes and then let go of the throttle and it goes back to normal but as you will expect not go anywhere so i cut it out and when i started it again flames came out of the pipe and thn while it was ticking over little bits of black liquid was comng out of my pipe as it ticks over does this mean i need a bigger jet or a smaller one and wat about the mixture and idle screws?? hope sumone can help im in need lol
no hes not sure, i wish people who dont know what they are talking about would stop issueing advice out theres no way a std airbox will flow enough air for an evo... Have you got a jet box m8 with a selection of jets for your carb?? if not then get one real quick imp: do yourself a favour and read this: http://www.scootershack.co.uk/carbguide.html start with a real big jet, and work down untill it pulls cleanly on full throttle...
ok brillent so are you sure its not over fueling becuase my exhaust was blowing and when i took the pipe off the exhaut port was very black and black liquid came out and so it did out of my pipe like little spots of it.
yeah 97 is too lean i have a 21mm carb and it has a 115 main jet and tht is perfect the sparkplug is a tanned colour
ok kl i am very thankfl for all this help so if its lean y is it back fireing and flaming from the pipe and being rele black from liquid at the exhaust port, and just to let everyone know my mate is running the mhr 70cc bore with a 21mm carb with a 60 main jet and that massive stage 6 air filter and it still goes sum where whereas mine doesnt???
