Basically, the end of my oil tank has snapped off and oil is leaking everywhere; there is a motorcycle show on sunday, I've been working my hardest to get the bike done and now for obvious reasons, it is unrideable However, I thought it may be ok to run pre-mix; just wondering 1. what is required to do (I don't want to disconnect the oil pump completely so I was thinking fill the oil pipe right up, then plug the end off; then try and bridge the connectors so they just go in a loop to fool it into thinking it has oil) 2 what ratio of petrol; oil would I do? The oil bottle says upto 100-1 but that seems mega lean, was thinking somewhere about 40-1? is this ok? also, if say, it was 40-1, does this mean it's 25ml for every litre of fuel (1000ml to a litre divided by 40=25) sorry if I sound completely stupid, I just don;t want to seize my bike up, not in the mood for a top end rebuild when my bike has a newish piston and rebore, thanks
you can get yourself a 2 stroke measuring jug from motorbike shop it makes mixing ya oil foolproof but youll need to ask some one eelse what your ratio is but my 172 is 50:1 on fully synt and have no probs
1. Dunno what bike you got. But on a runner, take the inspection cover off (think that's what it's called) the little round thing on the tranny case on the left to the kick start, and simply un hook the cable from the round thing, dunno what it's called lol and your done. 2. no, as the cabl,e bunches up... on ANBY bike you dont put oil in the oil tank, you mix it in the fuel.. erm, thats it. the oil pump can sit there spinning all it wants with fuck all oil, no air gets past it so it wont leak and the throttle wont stick so just put oil in your petrol and its premix..
