Ok... i just put a polini 70cc kit on my 50cc vespa.

is it possible to get a bigger engine again....
ie a 125kit, replacing the crank, conrod, and driveline gear with aftermarket stuff?

does this make sense, and is it possible?

As in cutting apart and welding up the casings over and over again to fit all the 125 parts? Half of the casings would end up being weld and it would take one hell of a lot of work. :w00t:

It would be a lot easier to get a 125 2stroke engine and put it in.

Yes i do know it's no easy task to get one where you live. ;)

    cool....so easy answer - no.

yep 2nd hand piaggio engines are rare as here.

so is 70cc the biggest i can go with my current setup?

Well you could go up to 80cc if your bike was LC. :msn1:

i could buy a crate of xxxx direct from its motherland, then decide i dont want them, only i could slap a piaggio 125 lump in the mix as well?

    for a large price

hehe im not that keen for an extra 10cc.... too much work.

might consider a rebore when its up for a rebuild.
there are other things i need first.... like pipe, aftermarket variator and bigger carb.

If it's just performance your after then you could put a higher performing kit on it... Only problem still is the lack of room for a good exhaust.

yep.... reverse style pipes are pretty much ruled out.

what type of carb would you use for this setup?

21mm are easy to setup and are what most people opt for when tuning 70's.
However if your looking to go all out a 25mm is the other option!

    haha i meant fosters! sorry!

basically we could smuggle you a 125 lump over, and make you a very happy person indeed!

I went for the malossi 21mm, I wish I'd gone for the Dellorto black edition, looks cool and it has the drian plug in the bottom, other than that I can't see any difference between that and the malossi 21mm.

the Malossi 21mm is made by dellorto, I did not know that before i bought it, just though I'd get everything malossi for my scoot and keep it the same.
