Please can anyone tell me if it's possible to remove the connectors from inside so I can give them a good clean or even get a new 1 thanks
yeah, there is a little sort of tab thing, you need a tiny screwdriver to bend it and sort of wiggle them out, but the scredriver needs to be tiny tiny, like a watchmakers screwdriver or something, those dentists pokey tooth stick things works too as they are small enough
Get some lemon juice and some methylated spirits. Lemon juice contains citric acid and this is used widely in metal cleaning. Soak the connector for a while in lemon juice, then rinse it and dip it into some methylated spirits to remoev the water and allow them to dry naturally or with a quick blast from a hair dryer.
Cheers guys all sorted but have came across another problem haha I've found shards of mettle in the casing and going off the look of the crankshaft seals there goosed and chips in the casing no damage to the variator or the plate but there is a few in the bendix
It looks as though the bendix hasn't been fully retracting and has been catching on the teeth of the variator. It's not terminal, but it's up to you if you change it.
I'll hold on till it goes go into town do the crankshaft seals first and might as well do the bearings while I'm at it
