hiya i put my bore kit on a thousand miles or so ago and its starting to feel sluggish and not alot of compression iv just ordered some mallosi rings and a gasket set should this get it abit better again im assueming its the rings or the barrel but im trying rings first probabaly becuse it didnt get a very good run in cheers Andy
or you may have cold seizes on the barrel if you ride it from cold. more than likely rings will improve it.
glad to here the rings could be the problem ill get em in when i get em and see what its like i assume im gunna have to start the run in all again ? how far again was it 500 miles or sumat daft ?
welli got a nice suprise whn i opened the engine up lol well i noticed abit of oil like underneith the manifold and thought nowt of it took the head off and found the seal had broken up and burnt oil and crap was leaking through a crack in the head really small like hole next to were the seal sits and the bolt goes on so the oil had run through the bolt hole and down the outside of the barrel felt the bearings and the top end i think its called onbetween the piston had abit of wobble went to ake it out to swap it and it had seized in the car that its on had like deformed i managed to get it out and replace it though i thought ok then so carried on stripping to find some scores in the barrel which turned out to be the pins that hold the rings in place had like come off the piston and rubbing on the barrel and one fell out when i rmoved the piston the bore kit had only done 1100 miles then to top it off the rings were the wrong size they were to thick but the originals were nt bad it was just losing compression through the leak all in all came out ok
