Hey guys i have this popping sound/ or studder when i first start the scoot....intial throttle will studder then as i ride around for approx 2-5 mins then the pop is gone and the scoot runs tits. This always happens when i start the scoot only, for example i would be riding around and then stop the scoot for an hour, when i get back on it and start the scoot it will have this popping sound again...is this just normal start up characteristics? Just need the motor to get to operating temp? thanks
Well i always leave the choke down...i rarely use it to start the bike..but yes the choke i dont really use....could this be a malfunction of the choke somewhere? Like worn parts or something? Thanks for your reply! Oh and this happens when the bike is moving while i throttle it..not on the stand as i warm it up.
when it's cold, the piston will be smaller initially and the clearances generally won't be right, so it is bound to run shit until all the clearances are made and everything is up to operating temp (hence why they say you should never rag from cold as the piston could expand quicker than the barrel and cause seizure)
