dunno if this is in the right thread but ohwell yeah so i thought id share with your a lil adventure of what i did yesterday, had a day off work and thought seen as the weathers nice might aswell take my bike for a run so went down a few road and was actually going really well also had headphones in but didnt have the music on full so i could hear the cars etc and was going down a road beside the motorway (m606, some people on this site may know it ) and the bike was absolutely flying down this road doing over 60 thing that i didnt notice was a few cars at the end of the road had stopped for the lights got to be honest the smell after wernt too good lol but managed to slam on the brakes hard as hell without hitting them n this is in a 3 second gap worth of braking close shave i would say ,, just thought id share this with you lot feel free to post and close shave's you've had cheers
There's been far too many close shaves for me on Rooley Lane, full of estate chavs in their sup'd up Micras not paying attention, most recent was exiting McDonalds, indicated to go into the second lane after checking it was clear (was 3am as well, so dead quiet).. out of nowhere a blue micra zooms past, i hit the anchors and toot the horn.. Dangerous road that is!
You were distracted, Got a bit complacent finding a nice moment, Wake up call maybe - be a good term, 'stead of just getting it in your head , phew got lucky there an putting it out of sight/out of mind.
Most of the close shaves I was getting up here wete white van man doing the right side tango when filtering through traffic - not good when you end up straying onto the other side of the road with a b......g lorry working it!.
i done something similar on a wee Honda Shadow 125 2007 ... going to fast and noticed last second that cars infront of me where actually waiting at a set of lights i had just got the bike and was only a year old so everything was in working order and the breaks where SH1t hot so i managed to stop intime ... was only about a foot away from the car infront but i stopped lol
