Ok so i've had a little problem starting my bike recently. The idle was set too low so the bike cut out at some lights. When I go to start it again it fails and as I try and try the engine floods.

So I cleaned the spark plug, replaced it... it was a brand new one anyway. Then I gave the bike a day with the spark plug out to let the petrol in the engine evaporate. Tried to start it again and the sound was better but still didnt work (sounded like it was about to). So that leads me to believe the carb is dirty in some places. Or am I coming to the wrong conclusion?

Ok so assuming its probably the carb, do I need to remove the whole thing and clean each little hole/inlet whatever on it. Or am I missing something very simple that I could do to sort my problem? A friend of mine said you can buy carb cleaner fluid or some such thing to put into it and it does it all for you...

Someone please help me out, need my bike back asap.

    Appreciate any comments.

reeset the idle mix... wind the idle speed up slightly and check the chokes operation. this WILL kil plugs at idle pritty quick so use a new plug befor you even try an start it.

its pritty hard for any contaminates to get into a carb as the air box and tank are well filterd. its still possible but doubtfull.. setting the idle mix and changing a plug is cheap easy and quick, if this doesent work whip the float bowl off and start sniffing around the carb but for ease the plug and a screw isnt hard atall.
its the first thing id try given what youve described

it happen to me once and it was the little pin that looks like rice which makes the float bowl go up and down if thats stuck it will flood.

Ok well i've never fucked with a carb at all, so even though I may be able to tell its stuck somehow I still wouldnt know how to unstick it. What do I do, just pull it push it etc until it unsticks? Give me some sort of indication on this I want my bike back and got 2 days to do it. :)

I heard that if I do something with the choke I may be able to start also... could someone give me a step by step of things to possibly try if you have time.

first of all take the bottom of your carb off check the float bowl usually white plastic lol anyway hold ur carb as usual position and see if the float goes down wen u push it up. if thats ok get a easy start and spray in to the carb and it shud fire up.
