    VERY heavy.

What are the laws regarding riding this on the road?
i was just pushing it back to the house (after jumping off quickly and turning it off because i saw a car light around the corner) which was lucky as it was the police hehe, who stopped and asked me if it was mine, and did i realize it had no number plate.i asked him if he realized it was an electric scooter with pedals to which he replied "oh" then started to drive off,i asked if i could ask him a couple o q's about the law and that i lived 2 feet from where i was standing to which he replied "sorry we are in the middle of something important"

    any help would be appreciated.

    It has working pedals!

I'm not a lawyer or anything but I always thought they weren't registered because they COULDN'T be? Those electric razor scooters and go-peds are 100% illegal to use on the road

And pushing something down the street isn't illegal so I imagine they'd rather catch you actually riding it on the road when they had the time and when you would be breaking more laws?

I guess as long as it can pass an MOT and it is rated the same power as what the cbt allows for then it might be ok?

You dont need tax, insurance or a mot for a electric assisted bike (even if its shaped as a scooter)

i know a guy that has a electric scooter let alone the hundreds of grannys in peterborough with them all riding on the cycle paths

you have to bare in mind it HAS pedals

this makes it electronicaly assisted so it is perfectly legal unlike one without pedals

Even those granny scooter things that go like 5mph you need a category on your license tho

I thought the pedals were a stand or something lol..

i wasnt on about the granny mobile's

i was on about the 'scooters' with pedals that there is loads going around (although some look more like pushbikes). its just a loop hole like many years ago where a 50 was classed as a moped if it had pedals

im pretty sure anything motorized capable of over 8mph reuqires a cbt and to be registered etc.

i used to be heavy into rc, and the motors we could get put out a good 6bhp + so fitting one to a cycle would shift, but a letter to the dvla stated it needed tax and a license etc if it was faster then 8mph
