I bought on eBay a barrel, head and piston kit for my Chinese scooter, because I didn't like a look of the piston I bought a Nakuru piston, today I went to fit the gudgeon clip, after an hour I managed to get it on, and it was not right, it had 2 tangs that interfered with each other, when fitted one was on top of the other, so I thought I would try the clips off the Chinese piston which was simpler, and that was difficult to fit and it bent very easily so I didn't get a lot done in the end, tomorrow I will go and order a couple of yamaha clips which is cheaper an 2 off eBay from a Chinese supplier.

Yes I know, but their quality control is a lot higher, and the clip design is different between the aftermarket parts and what was fitted originally and what Yamaha supply. What I can say is the clips from both Pistons are not fit for purpose.
Chinese parts online want £5.06 posted, my local Yamaha dealer 19p each!!

fun fact, top fuel engines dont have clips on the wrist pins, they just kinda stay in place

Most cars don't have clips, they use a friction fit pin, that us ok on a car but not on a 2 stroke with a small piston and a frequent need to remove the piston

I've never known the circlips on a Naraku piston kit to do that, overlap each other. It sounds something like you had 12mm circlips onto a 10mm gudgeon pin. The circlip design is somewhat irrelevant, some have turn ups that are really easy to fit, some don't.
    Got a photo at all?

Sorry I don't have a picture with the clip fitted, size wise the clips from the naraku and the chinese piston looked about the same size, just the naraku has a double bend that would have been perfect if the clip was a bit smaller, the idea was good, but the size wasn't.

Yesterday I fixed the genuine yamaha clips to hold the gudgeon pin in, I did it with my fingers and it took a few seconds to fit, not and hour struggling.
