Hi i bought an aerox from ebay few week ago for £530, when i bought it the lad started it fine and everything seemed to work ok. Now ive got it at home safe it takes about 20 mins to start in a morning, sometimes it goes then other times it doesnt, if i stop up a tiny hill then try go again it wont go, ive noticed there are a few bolts/nuts missing. The lad i bought it off sent me the logbook and i recieved it the other day and he lied about previous owners. The logbook says 12 previous owners which is probly why it doesnt always start and goes like shit because its been ragged around, So now im going to either sell it or have to spend around £200 for a garage to sort it all out I know i should of checked the bike everywhere before i bought it but im new to scooters and couldnt test drive it so didnt know it was going to be so sluggish. I just swapped my BMX for a piaggio zip 2001 and it runs better then my aerox and probly goes faster which also winds me up lol but im going to sell the zip cos i dont like the look of them. Unless anyone knows any smart Piaggio zips that have been tuned ( no sp versions) then post a link. SO yeah had to let some steam off lol. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
You can get SP front panels for cheap if you prefer them. Scooter centre sell them cheaper than the normal zip panel. Sadly buying aerox's off ebay are never 100% all my mates have had problems with theres. Funny how my w reg nrg works fine. Oh well i stayed away from my aerox, sticking with piaggios tbh.
Yh i was going to go with a Sr at first but il just spend some money on my aerox because they are probly one of the best to tune Going to take it over to PSN in batley when i have some spare cash
Have to agree RE Aerox's there. Anyone i know who's had any work done (in fact, the people im speaking of have had all work done at Tinklers (yamaha specialist) dealers) have ended up with problems). I had a NEOS (same engine) and i couldnt go more than 2 months without problems occuring, mostly quite serious. Both mine and a mates aerox have had crankshafts fucked quickly... Whilst theres lots of Aerox's about, and some fast one's too, i can't help but think the amount of problems are not coincidental.
i dislike aeroxes but tbf its probably an issue with 1. how your mates look after their bikes 2. how the crankshafts ect were installed as if you have an any setup on a rox and the exact same setup on a runner and theyre looked ater the same and are used the same there gonna last the same amount of time i just dont like teir size looks etc imo they look fat and ugly
cranks fail due to overly tightend variator nuts.. same as any scooter. somone in that shop is obviously a fan of the air impact wrench... your not legally allowed to do wheel nuts wiht these anymore as they snap, let alone a tiny threaded little 50 crank. bearings are known to go but this is down to derestriction and no jetting correction.. basicly, aerox's can be good bikes, if your short. they look big yet have NO space for the rider.. theres more room on a zip.
agree with minor they have shit room im not "big" but theres no room for me and it feels cramped like my legs r in my chin when i first get on it lol, and my zip was much more reliable never broke down tbh started straight away every morning, get a piaggio
